Easy Way To Ride Dolphin ![]()
From: Kevin Mumm
First of all, you don't have to do any tricks in stunt mode to ride the dolphin. You just have to go to championship, put on normal. But don't go to championship. select warm up. immediatly after you select warm up hold the control stick down. you have select the guy in the green suit because he the first rider. still holding down select dolphin park. you should be riding the dolphin. if you don't get it the first time keep at it. it does work.
Where did he go?
You need a GameShark for this. Type the Super Speed code, 800DA753 00XX, and press A and save it and put it on. Then start the game and go to Stunt Mode and go to Twilight City. Last go of the first ramp and do a dive... you might not go over the first time but keep on trying. I got 1,370 by doing a dive you usually get 800 or 900. The best part though, is that your guy should disapeare and never come up!
Tip - (if you are not going a lot faster check the Game Shark code and you have to be as centered as you can of the ramp). Good Luck!
Jump the Dock
In Southern Island set the waves at calm in the options menu and take Miles Jetter (maybe possible with others but hes best for it) set it so its pretty fast but not that heavy or slow acceleration. You can only do this first lap so when you pass the buoys after the sunken boat line up down the center and don't forget to keep max power and hit the jump from the bottom left and go off the top right. Aim for the spot between the two huts and pull back a bit. It takes some practice but once your better you can pull off barrel rolls over it too.
Get Ultra Points(40,000 +) in Stunt Mode
This is very similar to the other method of getting mega points except with a few helpfull hints. Do a trick off the first ramp or whatever you can find(sand works). Hit the pause button as you land on the water. Now get as many rings as possible, don't do any more air stunts, and go through the check points with as little time left as possible. If you get to a check point and have lots of time left, start doing some stunts like handstands, etc. The only stunt you shouldn't do is the twist with a backflip. Now when you get to the finish line, if should give you about 30,000 to 40,000 points for those stunts. I've got 52,000 in Glacier Coast.
A hint for this tip
In places like Drake Lake, after you go around the first corner, go wide and do the flip on the mound of dirt. In courses like Dolphin Park and Sunny Beach, do it off the waves. You don't have to make the stunt to get this trick to work. Good Luck!
We Boy's Love To Play On The Ice
I found this trick out while fooling around in Glacier Coast. What you do is start a race on this track, then go around the first bend to the giant ice cube (not the berm). Once you are there you can do stunts like on the sand but there is much more room.
Update by Vender:
Goto the big ice chunk at top speed get the craft on its side and do a helicopter on the ice keep it held back and he will do alot of spins then he will do some flips pull out at the rite time and you will get 10,000+.
Flip-Sub
O.K this trick is very tricky....Use M. Jeter and get going around 109-115 and hit a ramp of course and hit Up then hold Down until your guy has made a full rotation and the quickly hit Down and hold Up....The point received for this trick vary anywhere from 900-2500....
We Boy's Love To Play In The Sand
O.k. here's what ya do..First find a nice area with a lot of sand like in Southern Island on the third lap....Now that you have your sand get some speed and as soon as you hit the sand do a Backflip, Barrel-Roll or Sub etc. and it'll look like you do the trick but you never leave the ground.
Update: I would like to update my last N64 Wave Race codes by telling everyone that when doing tricks in the sand in "Stunt Mode" you get points for doing them which actually saves time....Have fun!!!
More dolphins
In the warm up round follow the dolphins around for 3 laps and smaller dolphin will apppear and keep on going to about 20 to 23 laps and by now you should have at least 3 smaller dolphins and a another dolphin the size of leader. Not much of a trick but kinda cool. Also on Southern Island after you have beat the game in Reverse a baby killer whale will show up.
More Stunts
Dive stunt
This trick is in stunt mode of Dolphin Park. In the begining of the course, right out of the gate, you have to lean your rider vertically by pulling back on the controller, but not to far. As soon as you hit a wave you push foward on the the control stick. This will cause you to dive under water. You have to hold the control stick in the foward position. This trick has gotten me 2,000 points before even hitting a ramp.
Double Barrel Roll:
To do this build up lots of speed and on a ramp do a barrel roll (left, right or right, left) and hold the last direction you hit in the air.To do this move make sure you do a barrel roll on the ramp!! I've gotten 3000 points in stunt mode doing this move.
Nosedive:
To do this move build up a lot of speed and do half a flip off a ramp and hold forward. This means do a flip and the second you see your guys head face the water hold forward. This takes a lot of practice to land. I've gotten 2000 points in stunt mode with this move.
This is a Barrel Roll Flip to do in the stunt mode:
Get all the way up to the fastest speed you can. I'm usually up to 118. Approach the ramp the same way you would if you were doing a barrel roll. (To do this trick, you must have already mastered the barrel roll) On the ramp, move the stick left, and then in the air move it right, like a regular barrel roll, but when you move it right, rotate the stick backwards so you do a flip. Let go as soon as the bottom of the jetski is parallel to the water. This can also work for a barrel roll from right to left. Again, move the stick to the left, to the right, and then to back-right. You should get at least 1500 points. I've gotten 2000 at Dolphin Park off the first ramp you get to. Hope this helps!
Inverted Helicopter Flip:
While on the ramp, tap diagonal Down-Right and the hold diagonal Up-Left to do an Inverted Helpicopter Flip.
Get up fast
After you have fallen off your jetski then press the A-button very quickly until the guy is up on it, if you do this you will get up a lot faster than normaly.
Ride the dolphin
In stunt mode, go to Dolphin Park, ride through all of the rings and do the following tricks:
Handstand
Backwards Spin
Stand with Backflip
Single Backflip off Ramp
Dive off Ramp
Barrell Roll off Ramp in both directions
If you did the code correctly, you'll here squeaking when you cross the finish line. Additionally, when you reset and go the title screen, you'll see people riding on dolphins
In order to ride a dolphin, select Championship Race, normal mode. Hold down on the analog stick when selecting your racer. In Dolphin Park, you will ride a dolphin.
The code lasts permanently and can be chosen again and again even after you're turned off your N64.
Stunts
Double Flip Stunt:
First get some speed with the jet ski. When you are on the ramp tap up one inch from the top of the ramp and hold down to do your flip. Instead of making the character do one complete flip hold the down button longer so he does another turn. If you do it correctly he will land perfectly and ride on. J. Meter is the best guy to do this especially on the small ramps. You get 2000+ points for this stunt. I have gotten 3120 for this stunt in Sunny Beach because the "judges" (the algorithm which calculates the score) gives you more for a smaller ramp and the height you jump off the ramp.
Helicopter Stunt:
It is a variation of the flip where you spin side ways. When you are on the ramp turn sharply diagonal left-up or diagonal right-up then hold down to do a side ways flip. You can get an average of 1700+ points for this.
Helicopter into a Flip Stunt:
Do the helicopter stunt as listed above but hold the down button more longer. It will look like he does a helicopter move but then rotates so he is an upright position and does another flip. You can get 2500+ points if done corectly. I have gotten 3450 points on the first ramp in Twilight City for this.
Triple Flip:
To my knowledge this stunt can only be done in Glacier Park on the big ramp. You need a lot of speed and a lot of air to do this. It can only be done with J. Meter on this stage to my knowledge. You tap up 1-2 inches from the top of the ramp and start doing the flip and hold down. You need a lot of speed for this one so do not try to do any turns or get hit by an ice block in the water which may slow you down or stop you completely. You can get 3000+ points for this. I have gotten 5610 points because I sort of started like a helicopter stunt with two flips after. Note that this is a difficult stunt to perform and you do need a lot of speed, timing, and maybe some tinkering with the customization of the racer at the character select screen.
Change Racers Colors
Color Change
Here's a simple code that'll bring a little difference into the way your characters look. Go to the character select screen, and before choosing characters, push the analog stick or the D-pad up and hold it there -- the characters's outfits and jetski bikes will change in color. The number on the bikes will also change.
This is actually the alternate color chosen by the computer in Two-player Mode. To make the change, hold the stick up and then press A or B to select your character.
Speed Burst
Try to press and hold down the gas button right before the announcer says, "Go!" If you are successful, you will immediately increase your top speed. It can be increased anywhere from one arrow to maximum power if you get it right.
Get Mega Points Easily
To rack up MEGA points in Wave Race 64 stunt courses, press the pause button as soon as you complete a stunt. If you do it right, all the sounds should stop except for the announcer ("I can do that!", "What a great stunt!", etc.) Usually if you press pause at the exact moment you hit the water you should be OK, but the idea is to pause it the instant the announcer starts talking (that way this cheat works with handstands, etc.). If you do it right, you should get tons of points for the simplest things. My little brother got over 20,000 points on Dolphin Park this way and over 30,000 on Glaicer Coast!
